Bhaktisiddhanta has given some very nice instructions, just before his disappearance. Just one week before his disappearance, he called all his disciples and gave instruction. “During my lifetime, I have given udvega, anxiety to many people.” That is guru’s duty. Why? “For doing hari-bhajana, niṣkapaṭa cittare hari-bhajana. Niṣkapaṭa - no duplicity. Simplicity is Vaiṣṇavism. And I am forced to say akaitava satya-kathā - the naked truth, though it is unpalatable.”
“I am forced to speak unpalatable truth, therefore I have become an enemy to many. Why have I done so? Because giving up all other desires - anya-abhilāṣitā-śūnyam, giving up duplicity - kāpaṭya, one should become humble, become simple and do hari-bhajana. Therefore I have done so. And one day will come when they can realize that I have done good to them by giving them udvega.”
